Introduction

This lecture will explore the theological essence of the Trinity by examining the historical development of the initial Trinitarian formula “one ousia and three hypostaseis” in the Greek philosophical context. Then the lecture will discuss how we should properly read the Chinese translation “一體三位” in oder to render the essence of the Trinity for catechetical purpose.
